I think the British press is mad because Winslet now wears the “Most Embarrassing Acceptance Speech Ever” mantle previously held by American actress Gwyneth Paltrow for her 1999 Oscar speech.

You mean to say that Gwyneth Paltrow is still being condemned for being emotional over her Oscar win? Hmm . . . shallow! Judging from these condemnations of both Winslet and Paltrow, I can only surmise that human beings - no matter where they come from - are basically shallow. Especially if they are going to bitch and moan over two actresses reacting with emotion over being recognized by their peers.

The British press is condemning Kate Winslet for getting emotional over winning several acting awards? Are you kidding me? What is wrong with them? Is it really that important that she maintain the "British stiff upper lip"? I have never heard anything so shallow in my life. And they have a nerve to criticize Hollywood for being shallow.

Yes, she was probably celebrating that first win, never expecting a second then whoops! Oh well, she's charming enough a person/actress, she won't pay for this too long -- unlike Gwynnie.
