Queen Elizabeth’s new website

by Diana Burrell on February 13, 2009

Earlier this week the Queen unveiled a new version of the British monarchy’s website at a reception in Buckingham Palace. She certainly had the best web site development team working on this project — it looks like it was headed by none other than Tim Berners-Lee, who’s credited with inventing the World Wide Web. Not too shabby!

Very cool site! Thanks. I’ve been here seven years but the Queen has yet to invite me to tea, so at least now I can have a virtual tour of her house.

No, I’m sorry. This looks like a basic web template.

I wonder if she’s been spurred on by Obama’s new website for the US govt? When the Royal Family adds a blog and twitter feed we’ll know there’s a bit of tech-envy going on there ;)
