She left him in the lurch for this guy and everyone felt sorry for Pete, or at least I did. I also think it's because they flaunt their lifestyle a bit too much for the UK, and take themselves too seriously. There are plenty of wealthy and successful people who aren't seen as a pain in the A. It's very difficult to put my finger on it, but it doesn't surprise me with them.
